Each tour has its own majestic character. SPO Partner Umiak Outfitters offers trips to suit first-time paddlers and experts alike! Paddle at your own pace and enjoy the scenery and the water. There are many places to pull your boat out of the water, eat a picnic lunch, go swimming, fishing, take photos or just soak up the sun. You can paddle a solo kayak, tandem kayak or canoe!
2021 Tours Include:
Pedal and paddle -Start with a 2-5 mile bike ride on the rail trail and then transition to a 5 mile kayak down the Lamoille river.
($15 Bike Rental + $45 Boat Rental Per Person)
Maple Ice Cream Float – This is a 4 mile trip by canoe or kayak down the Winooski River followed by a maple Creemee, cider donuts, and apple cider. This self-guided trip down the river is gentle and slow-moving. It is perfect for beginner paddlers.
($50 per person)
River and spirits - Join Umiak on a self-guided river paddle in a canoe or kayak that includes great views and wildlife. Once off the river you'll head to Apple Core Luncheonette and Bew by Cold Hollow Cider Mill and taste some of their delicious selection of Hard Apple Cider.
($55 per person)
River float Upper Gorge - This 9-mile trip is a more advanced section of the river with Class I/II whitewater rapids to canoe or kayak, goes through beautiful gorges along the way

Winooski Float – This gentle and slow-moving river is perfect for beginner paddlers. As you float slowly through Vermont farmland you'll be awed by the views of Camel's Hump Mountain. You may see otters, deer or even an occasional moose as they come to drink from the river. Paddle a solo kayak, tandem kayak, canoe or standup paddleboard.
($45 per person)
