Hikes will transition to use of snowshoes or ice grips based on trail conditions.
For all hikes your guide will have bug spray, sunscreen, and a first aid kit to share. Included in the price is hiking poles. Guests must bring their own water, proper shoes, and layers. Cameras optional, but highly recommended. 

Full Moon Hikes

Explore the Spruce Loop and other trails surrounding our community under the light of the full moon, while your guide provides astronomy facts and observations. Exact route of hike will vary based on trail conditions and participants' skill levels. $40 per person

  • May 23 , 2024 - The Flower Moon
  • June 21, 2024 - The Strawberry Moon
  • July 21, 2024 - The Buck Moon
  • August 19, 2024 - The Sturgeon Moon (Supermoon!)
  • September 17, 2024 - The Harvest Moon
  • October 17, 2024 -  The Hunter Moon
  • November 15, 2024 - The Beaver Moon

Spruce Loop Hike

  • Relax and learn more about the Spruce Peak area with a casual stroll/property tour while enjoying one of our local beer/wine options selected by the guide.
  • Rated Easy/Beginner - No experience necessary. Must be able to walk on mostly flat terrain with some ascents, descents and stairs.
  • $30 Person 

Lower Sterling Hike

  • Experience the property from a different perspective by exploring the lower to middle portions of the ski slopes here at the resort. This 2 mile tour provides excellent views of the Spruce Peak Village and the surrounding areas.
  • Rated Advanced - Some hiking experience necessary. Must be able to walk on varying terrain with many ascents and descents. 1 liter (32 oz) of water required.
  • $80 Person | 5 Hours

Barnes Camp Loop

  • Hike around the Barnes Camp to get a taste of a Vermont adventure! With a creek crossing, varying terrain, scenic views of the mountains, and heavy foliage this tour has a little of bit everything that incapsulates some of the elements of a true Vermont hiking experience.
  • Rated Intermediate - No experience necessary. Must be able to walk on varying terrain with some ascents, descents and stairs.
  • $50 Person | 2 hours

Boardwalk Hike

  • Access a small portion of the long trail and experience the natural habitat of some of Vermont’s local wildlife. This easy 1.5-2 mile tour provides scenic views into Smugglers Notch, an up-close look at a beaver lodge, as well as takes a quick pit stop to visit the creek and picnic area of the state park.
  • Rated Beginner/Easy - No experience necessary. Must be able to walk on mostly flat terrain with some ascents, descents and stairs.
  • $45 Person | 1.5 hours

Barnes Camp Boardwalk

This wheel-chair accessible, wooden boardwalk weaves through beaver-built swamps and ponds, complete with educational panels, towars a breathtaking view of Smuggler's Notch
Rated Easy - Wheelchair Accessible 600ft

The Stowe Rec Path

Perfect for both cycling and casual walks, this paved path criss-crosses the town of Stowe allowing for a self-guided tour of such popular spots as Idletyme Brewing and Stowe Cider.
Rated Easy - 5.3miles total 

Bingham Falls

Wind through the rocky forest to a pristine 40-foot cascading waterfall with deep gorges - a perfect destination for warm summer days.
Rated Moderate - 0.5miles

Sterling Pond

A beautiful option for a half-day hike, this well-maintained section of the famous Long Trail takes you past a beautiful mountain pond and numerous scenic photo spots.
Rated Moderate - Loops range from 2 to 3.4miles - Currently Closed for Mud Season

Hellbrook Trail

The most direct, steepest, and difficult trail to the summit of Mt. Mansfield, Hellbrook is often thought as the most challenging hiking trail in the state of Vermont.
Rated Extremely Difficult - 2 miles to summit with elevation gain of 2,600ft
