Offerings subject to change. For all hikes your guide will have bug spray, sunscreen, and a first aid kit to share. Included in the price is hiking poles. Guests must bring their own water, proper shoes, and layers. Cameras optional, but highly recommended. 

 

Spruce Loop Hike

  • Our most popular hike! This easy graded hike gets guests out and moving to start the day off right. Our specialists will guide them through the Lodge’s wooded trails while discussing life around Spruce Peak. This hike is recommended for all ages and abilities as it is 200ft of elevation gain and 1.5 miles. 
  • Rated Easy/Beginner - No experience necessary. 

Lower Sterling Hike

  • Experience the property from a different perspective by exploring the lower to middle portions of the ski slopes here at the resort. This 2-mile tour provides excellent views of the Spruce Peak Village and the surrounding areas.   
  • Rated Intermediate - Steep inclines on uneven rocky ground, but a shorter hike for beautiful views of the Lodge

Boardwalk Hike

  • Take a nice walk through the natural area of the Barnes Camp and see Smuggler’s Notch created by Mount Mansfield on the left and Spruce Peak on the right. The perfect way to get outside and relax in the scenery without much strenuous hiking. 
  • Rated Beginner/Easy - Mostly flat trails over a wooden boardwalk and through the woods, some stairs required

Barnes Camp Loop Hike

  • Hike around Barnes Camp to get a taste of a Vermont! A 2.5-mile tour with a creek crossing, varying terrain, and scenic views of the mountains; this tour has a little bit of everything that incapsulates some of the elements of a true Vermont hiking experience
  • Rated Intermediate - Mix of incline and decline, creek crossing, some stairs required

Mansfield View Hike

  • Another great way to see surrounding areas, hike through the ski trails of Mount Mansfield for stunning views of Stowe and the Lodge. The 3.5 mile round trip is recommended for hikers and guests looking for a good workout with good views.
  • Rated Advanced- Steep and uneven terrain, water crossings

Barnes Camp Boardwalk

This wheel-chair accessible, wooden boardwalk weaves through beaver-built swamps and ponds, complete with educational panels, towars a breathtaking view of Smuggler's Notch
Rated Easy - Wheelchair Accessible 600ft

The Stowe Rec Path

Perfect for both cycling and casual walks, this paved path criss-crosses the town of Stowe allowing for a self-guided tour of such popular spots as Idletyme Brewing and Stowe Cider.
Rated Easy - 5.3miles total 

Bingham Falls

Wind through the rocky forest to a pristine 40-foot cascading waterfall with deep gorges - a perfect destination for warm summer days.
Rated Moderate - 0.5miles View on All Trails 

Sterling Pond

A beautiful option for a half-day hike, this well-maintained section of the famous Long Trail takes you past a beautiful mountain pond and numerous scenic photo spots.
Rated Moderate - Loops range from 2 to 3.4miles View on All Trails

Hellbrook Trail

The most direct, steepest, and difficult trail to the summit of Mt. Mansfield, Hellbrook is often thought as the most challenging hiking trail in the state of Vermont.
Rated Extremely Difficult - 2 miles to summit with elevation gain of 2,600ft View on All Trails
