Spruce Peak Chamber Music Society - "Spring into Strings"
The String Quartet is well known for, among many things, its reflection to the various human voices. Like the Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass, the String Quartet explores a vast range of timbre, tone, vibrancy, and color, unlike any other configuration. As we experience the change of season and the excitement of the spring season, join Spruce Peak Chamber Music Society to take a deep dive into an extraordinary evening of what makes a String Quartet so uniquely special, with pieces that masterfully showcase the wonders of the four voices. In the program are Mendelssohn’s fiery and passionate masterpiece, his String Quartet in F minor Op. 80 which he wrote after his sister Fanny Mendelssohn’s death, William Bolcom’s Three Rags, Samuel Barber’s transcendent Adagio For Strings.
String Into Springs will feature Artistic Director and Cellist Jia Kim; Nicholas Tavani & Rachel Shapiro, violins; and Caitlin Lynch, viola (all members of the award winning Aeolus Quartet).
Featuring the below repertoire:
- Mendelssohn- String Quartet in F minor Op. 80
- William Bolcom- Three Rags
